Pub Courtyard Traditional Shopfronts, Matthews Bar, Virginia

About This Project

Irish Prestige delivered a full courtyard transformation at Matthews Bar in Virginia, Co. Cavan — building a timber-framed outdoor shopfront row, rendering and finishing traditional-style facades, and completing a brick wing with large bifold glazing that opens the pub onto the beer garden. The themed fronts recreate familiar local names from the town — including Healys, Bradys, T. Arnold & Sons, and Ó Ceallaigh — with cream render, painted joinery, custom 3D lettering, whiskey-barrel seating and period details such as a classic green post box. Works ran from timber framing and sheathing through metal lath, scratch-coat plaster and final decoration, alongside interior stud partitioning and first-fix joinery. A polished hospitality courtyard finished for a delighted client — renowned for quality and service since 1988.
